The Best Thing Ever - Star Wars: Episode VII

When it was announced another Star Wars Trilogy was in the works this scruffy looking nerf herder was estatic! I'm not the only one excited and the rumors have been going around. This past week J.J. Abrams released this picture:

The cast was officially announced!!! It confirmed rumors and pleased many fans to hear that they are getting the gang back together. Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2 and 3PO!

I'm also just as excited to hear about the people Star Wars newbs. Andy Serkis is going to be amazing. I hope plays some freaky motion capture alien creature. There is also a fair share of handsome men, Domnhall Gleeson (he will always be Bill Weasley to me) Oscar Issac and John Boyega (he was really awesome in Attack the Block)

Here is what else we know about the series:

  • It will take place 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi
  • This series will not be based on the 'Expanded Universe or anything that happened in Star Wars rebels
  • The film is set to be released in December 2015

The Best thing Ever - Hogwarts is Here

In the library world, there is a lot of talks about Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) They are a all about allowing enrollment to anyone interesting in signing up! Many schools have jumped on the bandwagon including some ivy league schools and now... Hogwarts.

Thanks to Hogwarts is here, aspiring witch and wizards can enroll in some of Hogwarts finest offerings, including: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms and Herbology. The school has all the aspects of Hogwarts life, choosing a dorm and even writing for the school paper, the Daily Owl.

I myself am enrolled in History of Magic 101. So if you are an aspiring witch or wizard, head on over to Hogwarts is Here and enroll!!

Best thing ever (this week) - #ruinachildrensbook

If you haven't been watching @Midnight, you are missing out my friend! @Midnight is a game show in which comics poke fun at the days events. One of my favorite games played on the show is #HashTagWars and I like that people can play along. This week my favorite hashtag was #ruinachildrensbook. The idea is to take an established and popular children's book and put an ugly spin on it, thus ruining it.

As someone who reads children's books, it was really funny to make fun of it a bit. I even got in on the fun and my ruin a children's book title was Don't Let Lindsey Lohan Drive the Bus (instead of Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus). Here are some of my favorites:

If you need a good laugh today, go check out the #ruinachildrensbook

Best thing Ever (this week) - Draw Quest

I've been trying to get back into drawing lately. I searched the app store to see if there was anything that would be helpful. I one of the Apps that came up was, Draw Quest. I've been having a lot of fun with it and making some fun drawings.

The concept of Draw Quest is simple, everyday there is a new drawing challenge. There is a scene with a piece of it missing. It is up to the artists to fill in the rest of the picture. For example you have a blank road sign and you have to decide what is on it. I opted for Caution: Prince ahead. I even added a crying dove.

The drawing tools in the app are pretty basic, but for every drawing you do you earn coins. These coins can be used to purchase to buy upgrades, like more colors and different paint tools. What is the best part of the game though, is seeing all of the other drawings. There are some pretty epic drawings.

So go check it out and make some beautiful drawings.

Bee & Puppy Cat - Best thing Ever

Since recently getting a Chromecast, I've been watching A LOT of youtube. So I've been in search of new internet content to keep me entertained!

I came across Cartoon Hangover. Its a channel started by independent animation studio, Frederator Studios. The channel has shows like Bravest Warriors created by Pendelton Ward (of Adventure Time fame) I came across what is perhaps the best show on there, Bee & Puppy Cat.

Bee is a jobless girl down on her luck when she finds a strange animal, she's not sure if its a dog or a cat, so it is dubbed, Puppy Cat! Of course he is not a normal animal and they have some pretty crazy adventures. So far this is only one episode, however thanks to a successful kick starter project they have funding for nine more episodes!

# 12 & Your regularly scheduled blog....

A very important announcement.....
We were going crazy with anticipation, hence derp faces

Today was an absolutley gorgeous day and instead of enjoying the outdoors with the rest of our friends, Caitie and I stayed inside and awaited the big news... who is going to be the next Doctor?! They announced the new guy... Peter Capaldi. Cait and I both had a similar reaction, "meh." Its mostly because we are in bummer mode that this just means its real that Matt Smith is leaving. I think in the end it will still be amazing with Moffat at the helm.

Now back to your regularly scheduled blog....

I took the month of July off from the blog-o-sphere, now that my life is getting back normal and routines are readjusting. Speaking of routines, I'm going to be introducing some new things on the blog this Fall. Along with the regular tutorials and crafty happenings I plan adding a few things into the mix. Here is what you can expect...

From blogging and etsy I found a lot of really cool people out there doing amazing things. Q & A will feature a new person and we'll talk about what there doing, what makes them tick and what we can expect from them in the future. If you yourself run a blog/shop or anything else and would like to be featured on Q&A send me an email!

Have you ever discovered something that you think is the most amazing thing and it makes you so happy that you feel like you have to tell the entire world about it? I'm not sure why, but it happens to me pretty often, so what better way to profess my love of something then on the blog-o-sphere! The best things will range from favorite apps, movies, snacks, etsy shops...pretty much anything I am currently obsessing over. Is there something that you are obsessing over? Do you think I should check it out? Then email me!

I often find myself on buzzfeed killing time reading compiled lists about 90s nostalgia or the most adorable corgi mix breads. Needless to say, I've fallen in love with making lists. So I decided I'd share that love here on the blog! You can expect to find lists of a variety of topics, from my favorite craft tools, to my favorite sci-fi baddies. The possibilities are endless! Any suggestions or things you would like to see on a list? Shoot me an email!
